Staff training

CPD training for SEND staff

Practise real school situations through branching scenarios where your choices change what happens next. Work at your own pace, with plain-English introductions, key-term explanations, adjustable text size and listen buttons where narration is available. Your place within a module is saved in this browser; recorded completions are linked to your account when signed in. Module 1, Behaviour is Communication, is free to try with no sign-up needed.

Awareness-level continuing professional development. Provider-certified CPD — not yet externally accredited; formal CPD accreditation review will follow completion of the substantial specialist peer-review process. Learning outcomes and module-specific sources are included, alongside discussion of the evidence and its limitations. Content version 2.2 · Deep Edition; last reviewed September 2026.

How this compares

The comparison you're already running in your head

  • Half-day INSET

Usually no assessment and no follow-up, so little of it sticks.

  • Watch-and-tick video CPD

Passive viewing, no consequences for a wrong call, no retrieval of earlier learning.

  • Per-head external courses

Excellent but priced per attendee — hard to justify for every TA.

Sensory Spark Training: branching simulations, retrieval questions, printable tools and workplace commitments, with module quizzes and decision-based capstones. Individually referenced certificates, separate staff accounts are included in one £99-per-year school licence.

Currently under specialist peer review by practising SENCOs, specialist teachers and allied professionals — here's what they've said so far.

Module quizzes require every answer to be correct, with unlimited retakes. Capstones record your simulation decisions instead. A learner declaration is required before a printable, uniquely referenced certificate is issued; completing all 32 core pathway units unlocks the full pathway certificate. This is awareness-level CPD, not a professional qualification or a replacement for school policies, specialist advice or task-specific practical training.

We are seeking external CPD accreditation; it has not yet been awarded. You can register your interest on the homepage for the £79.99 first-year school licence offer, available once accreditation is achieved. Registering is free and does not start a subscription; the current standard licence is £99 a year.
