Three ways to generate
Different learners need different things, so Sensory Spark gives you three purpose-built pathways. Pick the one that matches the pupil in front of you.
Sensory — for PMLD and complex needs
The full multi-sensory activity. You get a learning intention, a complete step-by-step delivery guide (preparation → introduction → main activity → support strategies → wrap-up), a materials list with quantities, sensory differentiation (hyper- and hypo-sensitive), a progression framework (Encountering → Emerging → Developing → Secure), core-board vocabulary, and safeguarding notes — all mapped to EYFS, KS1, or KS2 with exact curriculum citations. This is the pathway for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties who access learning through their senses.
SLD (Semi-Formal) — adapting a mainstream lesson down
Start with an ordinary mainstream lesson objective and Sensory Spark adapts it down to Entry Level 1–3. It identifies the core concept, sets an achievable adapted objective, makes it concrete and hands-on, adds a functional real-life link, and gives you observable success criteria in the correct Entry Level language, plus support strategies and AAC core-board vocabulary. Ideal for semi-formal learners, resource bases, and inclusion settings where the whole class is working towards the same theme at very different levels.
Neurodiverse — for ADHD and autistic learners
Here the curriculum objective stays exactly the same, so the pupil accesses the same learning as their peers — it's the delivery that's adapted. You get environment setup (seating, resources, sensory considerations), guidance on instruction delivery, task structure (timing, chunking, check-ins), colour-coded emotional-regulation support (breaks, signals, and a backup plan), scaffolds and resources, clear success criteria, and an extension challenge for when they're ready to stretch.
