Sensory Spark Training — School Licence

The agreement covering use of the 26-module CPD training platform in your setting.

Version 1.0 · August 2026

1. Parties and scope

This licence is between Sensory Spark, a sole trader in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”), and the school, academy, college, nursery or other setting that purchases a licence (“the School”). It covers the Sensory Spark staff training platform and everything inside it — the modules, scenarios, quizzes, certificates and supporting materials (“the Training”).

Module 1 is free for anyone to try without a licence. Modules 2 to 26 require a licence.

2. What the licence gives you

An annual licence for one school site, running for 12 months from the date of purchase. Within that site the licence covers:

  • Unlimited staff — every TA, teacher, cover supervisor, lunchtime and office member of staff employed at the site, at no extra cost per head
  • Access to all 26 modules across the six strands, and to any module we add during your licence period
  • A uniquely referenced, printable certificate for each staff member on each module completed
  • The full-pathway award for staff who complete all 26 modules
  • An administrator view of your own staff's completion records, for training files and inspection evidence
  • Printing certificates and records for internal staff files, appraisal and inspection purposes

Price. £99 per year for the first 20 schools to license the platform, held at that rate for as long as the licence renews without a break. £199 per year thereafter. Prices exclude VAT if and when we become VAT registered.

3. What the licence does not allow

You may not:

  • Extend access to staff at other sites, other schools, or other trusts. A multi-academy trust needs a licence per site, or a trust agreement — email us and we'll price it fairly
  • Share login details with anyone not employed or contracted by the licensed site
  • Copy, re-host, re-record or upload the Training, or any substantial part of it, to a VLE, learning management system, shared drive or resource-sharing site accessible outside the licensed site
  • Resell the Training, charge others to attend it, or deliver it as your own training offer
  • Use the Training, or content derived from it, to create a competing training product
  • Issue certificates in our name to anyone who has not personally completed the module

All intellectual property in the Training remains ours. The licence is permission to use it, not a transfer of ownership.

4. What the certification is — and is not

The Training is awareness-level continuing professional development. Each module credits a stated number of CPD minutes, is content-versioned, is reviewed on a published cycle, and issues a uniquely referenced certificate that we can verify on request.

It is not a regulated qualification, is not accredited by Ofqual or any awarding body, and does not confer a professional licence to practise. It does not replace statutory or setting-specific training, including safeguarding, manual handling, first aid, positive handling or the administration of medication. The School remains responsible for ensuring its statutory training obligations are met.

We describe the Training accurately in all our materials and ask that you do the same when recording it in your own training log.

5. Data protection

When your staff complete training, we record the name they put on the certificate, their account email, the module, quiz result, time spent and a certificate reference — so certificates can be verified.

For those records we act as a processor on the School's behalf, and the School is the controller. We process them only to deliver the Training and support verification, we do not use them for anything else, and we hold them for six years so certificates remain checkable. Full detail, including our sub-processors and security measures, is in the data protection sheet for your DPO.

Our data processing agreement (UK GDPR Article 28 terms) applies automatically to every licence — no signature needed for it to bind us. If you need a countersigned copy, print it, complete the details and email support@sensoryspark.co.uk. On termination we will delete or return staff records on request, other than any minimal entry needed to verify a certificate already issued.

6. Term, renewal and cancellation

The licence runs for 12 months and renews automatically unless cancelled, so your staff never lose access mid-year. You can cancel at any time before renewal; access continues to the end of the period you've paid for, and certificates already issued remain valid and verifiable forever.

New licences are refundable in full within 14 days of purchase if no more than one member of staff has started a paid module.

We may suspend or end the licence if it is used in a way clause 3 prohibits, having first told you what the problem is and given you a reasonable chance to put it right.

7. Our commitments to you

  • To keep the platform available, and to fix faults promptly when told about them
  • To review module content on the published cycle and update it when guidance or the SEND Code of Practice changes
  • To version content, so a certificate always states which version of the module was completed
  • To verify any certificate reference for you, or for an inspector, on request
  • To reply to support enquiries at support@sensoryspark.co.uk within three working days

8. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability under this licence is limited to the licence fees paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

The Training informs professional judgement; it does not replace it. Decisions about individual children remain the School's.

9. General

This licence, together with our Terms & Privacy, is the whole agreement between us. We may update it for new licences and renewals, and will tell you before your renewal if anything material changes. It is governed by the laws of England and Wales, with disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
